Children's Party

Want to help make the holidays a little merrier for children and families who are homeless? Support our Annual Children's Holiday Party!

Every December, The Partnership throws a gigantic celebration for over 300 children and families who are struggling with homelessness, providing holiday cheer through food, games, face painting, Santa, and of course — presents!

For the first time last year we partnered with the Brooklyn Children's Museum, which gave us the run of their fabulous building for the night. We loved it because it gave us a chance to bring an educational twist on a great night out in a community where we have a deep commitment, Brooklyn. Families loved it because of the Museum's amazing hands-on activities, role-playing opportunities, live nature displays, and the hundreds of new things to discover in art and culture, science and the environment, all in a beautiful exhibit space that is literally a feast for the eyes, ears, hands, and little running feet! We're thrilled to be returning to the Brooklyn Children's Museum again this year for our holiday party on December 10, 2011.

Pulling off a party of this size is no small feat. It takes the hard work and dedication of many staff, sponsors, donors, and dozens of volunteers to make the magic happen. You can get involved by:

  • Coordinating a Toy Drive in your office, neighborhood, or place of worship. We need hundreds of new, unwrapped toys for children ages infant to 17. We'll provide the boxes, the signs, and everything you need to make it a success. Sign up here to coordinate a toy drive on our behalf.
  • Becoming a sponsor. Are you a business who would like to sponsor the holiday party with either an outright donation or an appropriate gift in kind? Click here to learn more about sponsorship opportunities.
  • Volunteering. We welcome individual volunteers as well as employee groups and faith groups — for everything from gift wrapping to greeting and serving a holiday meal. Click here to sign up and find out more.
  • Dropping off a NEW, unwrapped toy. Feel you can't pull off an entire toy drive? You can still drop off a new, unwrapped toy at one of our drop-off locations. Check out our wish list items.
  • Making a gift. We need the support of people like you to provide children and families with the support they need to get back on their feet, including bringing joy through events like the holiday party. Click here to donate.
