The Partnership for the Homeless

Danish Social Work Interns Supporting our HIV Efforts

Four social work interns: Anne Frederiksen, Christina Johansen, Didde Johansen and Kathrine Helms from the Metropolitan University College in Copenhagen, Denmarkare currently working at The Partnership for the Homeless' Positive Step Program.  They will be interpreting risk factors that contribute to homelessness and understand the differences in social work compared to Denmark.  In addition to learning about different cultures and Positive Step’s work in helping New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS find decent housing fast, they are excited about this opportunity and learning experience that will make them better social workers in the future.

As a part of Positive Step’s team, they will be participating in a variety of tasks including case management, group work, and outreach.  Direct contact with clients will allow our interns gain knowledge about theory and methods in practice, and, therefore, grow professionally in their careers in social work.
